Silver, Gold, Boron, Asbestos...

Litterature tools

One example is our work in silver toxicology. Published as three articles in Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology. Essentially covering all available studies on oral, dermal, mucosal surface and inhalation routes. Taken together the articles thus provide a tool that can be readily used for hazard assessment of silver

Another example is the toxicity of boric acid and other boron substances. These are used in such applications as insulation materials and lubricating agents. We recently published a review article in RTP (2021, the journal described above) on the toxicity of these substances following pathways of oral, dermal and inhalation exposure. Providing a good starting point for any hazard assessor to get an overview of these substances.

Also we did a review on tungsten, molybdenum and lithium

Likewise we did review articles on oral gold (RTP 2015, Hadrup et al. PubMed).

We also collected the literature on acute selenium toxicity and the metabolism of selenium

At The National Research Centre for the Working Environment in Denmark (NFA) we have done a range of reports on the inhalation toxicity of asbestos, carbon black, titanium dioxide and carbon nanotubes: all published on the Danish Governments homepage:

Examples of situations i helped in:

Silver toxicity

I advised German doctors in a case of acute toxicity with colloidal silver

Selenium toxicity

I advised Portuguese docters on a case of potential selenium toxicity

Gold as cake decoration

I advised an Austrian gold manufacturer on the toxictiy of gold as a food additive
